Subject:19 and Under
Hi, I am from Cozad NE. My concern was on the nineteen and under rule. Why call nineteen and under league when most nineteen years olds can not play do to the deadline. I believe we should remove the deadline and open it for all nineteen year olds. This would allow team to fill their senior teams with out dual rostering kids that are not ready for this level. Please Reply on my Cocern

Subject:Program bylaws
Hi Mike: I am president of the Bozeman Bucks legion baseball program in Bozeman Montana. One of our winter projects is to work on new bylaws for our board. I would very much appreciate getting other legion program bylaws that we can use as examples emailed. Thanks. Regarding the post about compensation we paid our head AA coach $8,000 in 2009 and $18,000 total for all coaches for our 2 legion teams. We don't have hgih school baseball so our legion season runs from Arpil through July, about 65 games. Ron Edwards Bozeman Bucks Baseball 406-580-2575 redwards@montana.net

Subject:same state match ups?
Why are they keeping the same state match ups for areas vs areas? It's only right that it rotates each year.

Subject:New registration format
Can team insurance be purchased before registering your team? The issue we have, and probably others, the insurance anniversary date has always been March 1st. If we are not able to register before May 3rd, this will leave a 2 month gap without insurance. We start voluntary hitting and throwing practice in January and have always maintained insurance coverage year-around. Thank You

Subject:Coaches compensation
Does anyone know what the average compensation is for coaches during the summer season? I've been told that most town's legion programs will pay around 2,500.00-3,500.00 for the Seniors head coach and then around 1,500-2,000 for the juniors coach. Assistant coaches are up to the baseball foundations/associations to cover. I'm the Elkhorn area and I'm interested in getting into coaching. I have a friend who coaches in Yutan and he said the coaches don't get any type of financial compensation for coaching. Is this very common? I can't imagine putting in all that time and getting nothing for it. Yutan did win a state title last year. I just can't imagine they are able to get the best coaches available if they aren't paying anything?!?! Just a thought as I look to venture into the world of Legion Baseball.

Just out of curiosity. How does Gordon/Rushville end up in area 3, playing at Bennington which has to be at least 350 miles from Gordon? If they had stayed in area 7, their district is in Sidney which is about 140 miles away. Doesn't make much sense.
